BALLAST SHOT
Ballast shot is produced in various sizes and high bulk densities. It is currently the cheapest alternative to the much more expensive and toxic lead.
Ballast shot is a steel or cast iron alloy with an average bulk density of about 4.5 kg/dm3. Ballast shot is also available in the form of stainless steel granulate.
Ballast shot is available in the form of spherical, irregular or angular granulate. It perfectly sinks and spreads in concrete, resin or other system. Ballast shot does not contain light dust and in the right mixture reaches a very high bulk density – even up to 5.0 kg/litre.
Ballast shot in the stainless steel granulate version does not cause corrosion and rusty leaks and deposits.
